Seven new build projects from across the world have been shortlisted for the 2022 Design and Engineering Awards. The shortlist includes international projects from the United Arab Emirates, Lithuania, Italy, United States of America, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
These projects join the other 35 buildings and 6 engineers shortlisted for the Façade awards, with the winners being announced on 3 November 2022 Hilton Park Lane, London.
Relaunched this year, the awards comprise a total of eight categories, including Project of the Year, Young Facade Engineer of the Year, Product of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.
Chris Macey, Wintech CEO and Chair of the SFE Judging Committee said:
“The level of interest both across the world and from the UK reflects the wider recognition of the importance of the science of façade engineering, its contribution the built environment and the fundamental role that facades now play in buildings achieving their carbon targets and building sustainability objectives.”
“Many of the award entries were keen to demonstrate that both embodied carbon and carbon in use are important components in informed decision-making façade selection and design and execution. All the 90 entries received are of real merit and the judging committee had a significant task in resolving the best entries.”
“This has not been an easy process and the Society of Façade Engineering would like to thank all entries this year.”
