Housebuilder Crest Nicholson has completed on a landmark tower at Centenary Quay in Woolston. Overlooking the River Itchen, it is officially the tallest building in Southampton, standing at a total of 27 stories high. Crest Nicholson will now hand over the tower to its partner, Oaktree Capital Management, with private rental residents expected to move in soon.
The landmark building for Southampton forms part of Crest Nicholson’s ongoing Centenary Quay site, developed in partnership with Homes England. The new residents to the tower will benefit from access to concierge, a gym, communal lounge and terrace on level 23, with spectacular views across the harbour.
Centenary Quay is now in its sixth and final phase of development with sales due to launch from early next year. Residents in the last phase are expected to move in soon and will complete the already vibrant and established community. A premium, award-winning, waterside destination for Southampton, the development incorporates open space with plenty of amenities on the doorstep including a library, gym, restaurants, coffee shop and beauty salon.
Peter Truscott, Chief Executive at Crest Nicholson, commented: “As someone who is from Southampton, for me this is a particularly special development and I’m very proud to have been involved in the regeneration of the area and the development of this landmark building. The community within Centenary Quay continues to thrive and we look forward to seeing this expand with the final phase of the site launching next year.”
Earlier this year, Crest Nicholson celebrated the final pour of concrete in the construction of Centenary Quay’s iconic tower, marking the milestone alongside Councillor Alex Houghton, Mayor of Southampton and local dignitaries.
Centenary Quay offers a collection of one and two-bedroom apartments, ideal for first time buyers and young professionals. The final phase will also include a number of three-bedroom houses. The stylish new homes, many of which feature open-plan living spaces and balconies, have been designed with modern living in mind.
