Buckinghamshire-based developer Inland Homes is hoping to add another two awards to its already brimming portfolio later this year, following the news that it has been shortlisted for two First-Time Buyer Reader’s Awards. The leading housebuilder has been nominated in the Best Show Home and Best Medium Development categories for its work to restore the iconic former Randalls department store in Uxbridge.
Run by First Time Buyer Magazine, the awards recognise the lengths that some of the UK’s best housebuilders go to in order to help aspiring buyers onto the property ladder. The winners will be announced in an awards ceremony in September.
Vicki Noon, sales and marketing director at Inland Homes, comments:
“We are delighted that we have been shortlisted for not one but two awards at this year’s First Time Buyer Reader’s Awards. At Inland Homes, we pride ourselves on helping first-time buyers take that all important first step onto the property ladder, and I’m really proud that our hard work has been recognised in this way for our apartments at Randalls in Uxbridge.
“Randalls is a fantastic development for first-time buyers, a unique collection of homes with historical significance which are extremely well located, finished to the exceptional quality Inland is renowned for and, most importantly, London Help to Buy is available across all homes.
“Congratulations to all of the other shortlisted companies, and we look forward to hearing the results in September!”
Randalls is a former family-owned department store, that served the Uxbridge community for 123 years before its closure in 2015. Having survived both World Wars and the Great Depression, the Grade II listed building remains a key feature of the development. Alongside its retail success, the store also featured in a variety of films and television shows, including Victim (1961), Only Fools and Horses (1983) and Endeavour (2014).
Inland Homes has transformed the building and its surroundings into a selection of new build and restored apartments. Uniquely designed and set within bold and striking architecture, Gatsby House is the converted original building, offering residents the chance to live in an exciting and individual home in the original department store. Keen to restore it to its former glory, Inland Homes has kept several original elements that respectfully pay homage to the history of the building. Original features include both the cash desk and signage, as well as the pneumatic tube system, cast iron radiators and the structural columns.
Gatsby House provides a bespoke selection of 14 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. Each of the remaining studio apartments is unique in layout, design and size, with designer interiors and a superior specification. The fully open-plan layouts of the studios provide ample space for buyers to make the homes their own, with all benefitting from a kitchen/living area and bed spaces set in individual alcoves. Stylish kitchens come complete with a first-class specification, with integrated appliances including a fridge/freezer and dishwasher, stunning Quartz worktops and zoned underfloor heating throughout each property.
Along with a fantastic design, Randalls is well situated to take full advantage of Uxbridge’s retail and leisure facilities. The town features two shopping centres, The Chimes and Pavilions, which each host a wide range of popular high-street brands including H&M, River Island and The Body Shop. Located just a five-minute walk from Uxbridge Underground Station, commuting residents have access to a range of London destinations via the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, including Wembley Park in 25 minutes, Kings Cross station in 48 minutes and Leicester Square in an hour.
Prices at Randalls currently start from £335,000. To cast your vote in the First-Time Buyer Awards, please visit www.ftbawards.com/vote-now. For further information on Randalls, please visit www.inlandhomes.co.uk.
