Stuart Andrew has been appointed Housing Minister in the recent Cabinet reshuffle, replacing Cristopher Pincher.
As MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, Andrew previously held the roles of Deputy Chief Whip, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence, and before that, Assistant Government Whip.
Reportedly a ‘Boris Johnson loyalist,’ Andrew is the eleventh Housing Minister appointed since 2010. He will be immediately faced with a number of pressing challenges, from addressing the Housing White Paper, to the building safety agenda, and easing the current housing, labour and material shortages.
