Kit Malthouse has been appointed as housing minister. The news comes after his predecessor Dominic Raab was announced as Brexit Secretary, following the resignation of David Davis from Government.
Malthouse, the MP for North West Hampshire, was first elected in 2015, and has recently served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Work and Pensions.
Critics are concerned for stability in the housing sector, with Kit Malthouse being the eighth housing minister since 2010.
Davis resigned from his post as he “no longer believes” in the Government’s plan to leave the EU, following the Cabinet’s backing of a ‘soft’ Brexit plan. Boris Johnson resigned from his role as Foreign Secretary shortly afterwards.
