Work will start in January to convert a large office building into 126 apartments after permitted development rights were obtained by leading developer and investor BPG.
In a joint venture with the Property Alliance Group, BPG will convert the four upper floors of Lyndon Place, which comprises 75,000 square foot of office space overlooking Sheldon Country Park. The imposing building is situated on a 2.5 acre site on the arterial Coventry Road, just five miles from Birmingham city centre and within three miles of seven mainline railway stations, including Birmingham International.
The Help to Buy scheme will be available on the properties, which range from studio flats priced at just £99,950, with one and two bedroom apartments also available.
BPG Director John Southall commented:
“This development represents a superb opportunity for buy-to-let investors or first time buyers who want to get onto the property ladder. Residents will benefit from the proximity to central Birmingham, Solihull, the airport and NEC, and there’s also extensive parking on site. Sheldon itself is up and coming and many of the apartments will enjoy views of the country park, which is why we will be renaming the development Park Place.”
Conversion work will start on the building in January 2019. The apartments will then be available to buy off plan and will be marketed locally, nationally and internationally.
BPG has a strong reputation for delivering innovative and quality mixed-use development schemes, as well as asset management. Recent investments include large office buildings in Edgbaston, Solihull and Coventry, while the notable Moseley Central development offers stylish apartments in the heart of Birmingham’s most sought after suburb.
