Robin Partington & Partners has rebranded to Apt.
The London based practice founded in 2009 celebrated a re-launch at their contemporary studio space in the heart of London’s design district.
Apt will see the 50 strong practice enter a new era, with Founding Director, Robin Partington forgoing his name as the company celebrates its new structure and sets out its ambitions for the future.
Studio Leader, Jason Geen said:
“The company has now matured into a shared ownership structure, and we wanted a name that reflects that organisation, today and for the future. We want to create architecture and design that is sustainable, thoughtful and imaginative and we feel this is best summed up in a single word — Apt.”
Their new open plan studio on St John Street in Clerkenwell is a reflection of the fresh brand with a staff café, breakout areas, meeting rooms, model making workshop and materials library. The new space is full of light, with a large glazed façade, has a highly visible street presence and reflects the studios ambition of design collaboration and transparency.
Robin Partington commented:
“This is an exciting chapter for all of the team. Apt will continue to design inspiring buildings and we are looking forward to new challenges and building our brand further under a new identity whilst maintaining the strong team spirit that we are very proud of. Apt, implies being both astute and resourceful, which we certainly are. It also refers to things that are fitting and inventive, which is what we feel makes good things great.”
The practice has a diverse portfolio of both finished projects and those in development. During its first 9 years it has delivered a number of significant buildings, including the award winning 1 New Street Square, the remodelled Grade II Listed Kings Library and The Treasury at the Bodleian.
